Income Tax Calculator (FY 2026-27, new regime)

Tax under the default new regime for FY 2026-27: nil up to ₹4L, then 5% / 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% slabs to ₹24L and 30% beyond — with the ₹75,000 standard deduction for salaried taxpayers and the Section 87A rebate that zeroes tax up to ₹12L of taxable income.

Standard deduction− ₹75,000
Taxable income₹14,25,000
Tax as per slabs₹93,750
Health & education cess (4%)₹3,750
Total tax payable₹97,500
Effective tax rate6.5%

Computed for a resident individual under the new (default) regime, including 87A marginal relief, surcharge and 4% cess. The old regime, other deductions and special-rate incomes (capital gains, lottery) are outside this calculator — have your return prepared professionally before filing.

HRA Exemption Calculator

The exempt portion of your House Rent Allowance is the least of: HRA received, 50% of basic salary (metro — Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai) or 40% (other cities), and rent paid minus 10% of basic. All figures monthly.

HRA received₹20,000
50% of basic₹25,000
Rent − 10% of basic₹13,000
Exempt HRA (monthly)₹13,000
Taxable HRA (monthly)₹7,000
Exempt HRA (annual)₹1,56,000

The HRA exemption under Section 10(13A) is available only in the old regime — the default new regime taxes HRA fully. Basic salary here means basic + dearness allowance (where DA counts for retirement benefits).

Salary In-Hand Calculator (approximate)

Estimates your monthly take-home from CTC assuming employer PF sits inside the CTC, employee PF at 12% of basic, professional tax of about ₹200 a month, and TDS under the FY 2026-27 new regime with the ₹75,000 standard deduction.

Basic salary (annual)₹4,80,000
Employer PF (in CTC)− ₹57,600
Gross salary₹11,42,400
Employee PF (12% of basic)− ₹57,600
Professional tax (approx.)− ₹2,400
Income tax (new regime TDS)− ₹0
Annual in-hand (approx.)₹10,82,400
Monthly in-hand (approx.)₹90,200

Approximate by design: actual salary structures (HRA, allowances, gratuity provision, variable pay, PF on capped wages) and state professional-tax rules differ by employer and state. Use your employer's salary annexure for exact figures.

TDS Calculator

Tax deducted at source for the common sections — salary (192), contractor payments (194C), professional/technical fees (194J) and rent (194I) — at FY 2026-27 rates and thresholds.

TDS rate10%
TDS to deduct on this payment₹6,000
Net payable to payee₹54,000

TDS applies once fees in the year exceed ₹50,000.

Rates assume the deductee has furnished PAN (without PAN, TDS applies at 20% or higher under Section 206AA). Salary TDS assumes the new regime with standard deduction and no other income declared to the employer.

GST Calculator

Add GST to a base amount, or break an inclusive price into base + tax. Intra-state supplies split the tax as CGST + SGST; inter-state is charged as IGST.

Base amount₹10,000
CGST (9%)₹900
SGST (9%)₹900
— or IGST (18%)₹1,800
Total (incl. GST)₹11,800

EMI Calculator

Works for any amortised loan — home, vehicle, business or personal. EMI = P·i·(1+i)ⁿ / ((1+i)ⁿ − 1).

Monthly EMI₹21,002
Total interest payable₹2,60,112
Total payment₹12,60,112

Gratuity Calculator

Gratuity under the Payment of Gratuity Act = (15 ÷ 26) × last drawn basic + DA × completed years of service, with six months or more in the last year counting as a full year. Payable after five years of continuous service.

Years counted7
Gratuity payable₹2,42,308

Applies to establishments covered by the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972. Gratuity received is tax-exempt up to the ₹20 lakh lifetime ceiling for covered employees; employer schemes can pay more than the statutory formula.

EPF Corpus Calculator

Projects your Employees' Provident Fund balance: employee contribution of 12% of basic + DA, employer contribution of 12% less the 8.33% pension (EPS) share on capped wages, growing at the declared EPF interest rate.

Total contributions₹51,23,312
Interest earned₹85,63,593
Projected EPF corpus₹1,36,86,905

Approximation: EPFO credits interest annually on monthly running balances, the EPS wage ceiling and the interest rate are revised from time to time, and VPF or withdrawals change the path. The EPS share builds your pension separately — it is not lost.

PPF Calculator (15-year schedule)

The Public Provident Fund runs for 15 years at a government-notified rate (currently 7.1% p.a., compounded annually). Deposits between ₹500 and ₹1.5 lakh a year qualify for Section 80C, and interest plus maturity are tax-free.

Total deposited over 15 years₹22,50,000
Interest earned (tax-free)₹18,18,209
Maturity value after 15 years₹40,68,209
Year-by-year schedule

14₹21,00,000₹36,48,515
15₹22,50,000₹40,68,209

Assumes the full deposit is made at the start of each year (deposits before the 5th of April earn interest for the whole year) and a constant rate — the government reviews the PPF rate quarterly. The account can be extended in 5-year blocks after maturity.

NPS Calculator

Projects your National Pension System corpus to age 60. At exit, at least 40% of the corpus buys an annuity (your monthly pension); up to 60% can be withdrawn as a tax-free lump sum.

Invested over 30 years₹36,00,000
Projected corpus at 60₹2,27,93,253
Lump sum in hand (60%)₹1,36,75,952
Annuity purchase₹91,17,301
Estimated monthly pension₹45,587

NPS returns are market-linked and vary with your equity/debt allocation and fund manager; the annuity rate depends on the annuity provider and plan chosen at retirement. Figures are illustrations, not guaranteed amounts.

SIP Calculator

Projects the future value of a monthly SIP at an assumed annual return, compounded monthly. Projections are illustrations, not guaranteed returns.

Amount invested₹12,00,000
Estimated gains₹11,23,391
Projected corpus₹23,23,391

RD Calculator

Maturity value of a bank recurring deposit — a fixed monthly deposit with interest compounded quarterly, the standard for Indian banks.

Total deposited₹3,60,000
Interest earned₹40,385
Maturity value₹4,00,385

Interest on RDs is fully taxable at your slab rate, and banks deduct TDS once interest crosses the annual threshold. Post-office RD rates and compounding differ slightly from banks.

FD / Compound Interest Calculator

Maturity value of a fixed deposit or any lump sum under compound interest. Most Indian bank FDs compound quarterly.

Interest earned₹2,07,389
Maturity value₹7,07,389

Lumpsum / CAGR Calculator

Project what a one-time investment grows to at an assumed CAGR — or work backwards from a known start and end value to find the CAGR your investment actually delivered.

Amount invested₹5,00,000
Estimated gains₹10,52,924
Projected value₹15,52,924

CAGR smooths the path into one annual rate; actual year-to-year returns vary. Projections are illustrations, not guaranteed returns.

Simple vs Compound Interest

The same principal, rate and tenure — side by side. Simple interest is earned only on the principal; compound interest (compounded yearly here) also earns interest on the interest, and the gap widens every year.

Simple interest

Interest earned₹80,000
Total value₹1,80,000

Compound interest

Interest earned₹1,15,892
Total value₹2,15,892
Extra earned by compounding₹35,892

Compounding shown yearly; bank products may compound quarterly or monthly, which widens the gap further. Loan agreements state which basis applies — check before comparing offers.
